Suggest some good books for me to buy!?
I have a book voucher and can get a book.
I want it to fit two criterias..
1) Something that is relatively new, that’ll be hard to get old of at the local library (has a big reserve list)
2) A nice book to add to my bookshelf, that is a good read
My favorite books (modern) have been..
My Sister’s Keeper
The Book Thief
The Secret Life of Bees
Probably fiction, and I liked The Last Song and The Notebook (by Nicholas Spark)

So one series of books that I loved is the Private series by Kate Brian. It’s all about this girl called Reed Brennan and she moves to the prestigious boarding school Easton Academy from the tiny little town she comes from in Pennsylvania with her mother, the prescription drug addict. So, her first day at Easton is eventful. She’s staring out the window and she sees these four gorgeous, exotic girls and she becomes oh so slightly obsessed. To cut a long story short, these are the Billings Girls, Noelle, Kiran, Taylor and Ariana and they live in the most prestigious dorm on the entire campus, Billings House. The first four books encompass a story of Reed’s first love, his murder and who did it, and I’ve just finished the fifth book. And oh my god are they amazing. They aren’t just your typical teen fiction books, they contain romance, drama and mystery and they just completely draw you in.
Ok, so an author that I love is Scott Westerfeld. He writes Sci-Fi for people that don’t like Sci-Fi. I started off reading Uglies, and I loved it so much that I bought Pretties, Specials and Extras. The first three books (Uglies, Pretties and Specials) are about a girl called Tally like a gajillion years in the future and she is around 3 months away from turning 16. In this future world, there’s this thing called the Operation. Basically, up until you’re 16, you live in the skin you were born in, brought up feeling ugly. And there’s a name for these people. Uglies. Then, on your 16th birthday, you get the Operation and turn Pretty. But the thing is that Tally’s best friend Peris is already Pretty. So on an illegal expedition to New Pretty Town, she meets Shay. An Ugly with the exact same birthday as Tally, so they’ll never have to go without each other. But then, Shay runs away, Tally follows under the orders of Special Circumstances otherwise she’ll never turn Pretty. I won’t ruin the rest but wow.
Then there’s this book called Peeps, by the same author. It’s not as good as Uglies, but then, very few things are. It’s about this guy called Cal, and he’s parasite-positive, but luckily only a carrier. He hunts down other non-carrier parasite-positives or Peeps for short. Non-Carrying Peeps are canniballistic light fearing monsters that hate everything about their previous lives. Cal’s hunting vampires. Also a wow book, but Uglies is more of a WOW!
Now, you don’t know me so what you don’t know is that I am a tad obsessed with vampire books. Now I’m not about to suggest Twilight. Been there, done that. Several times, ahem. But then I graduated from Twilight High and enrolled in Vampire Academy. Oh yes. There’s this series of books called Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. It’s about these 2 girls, Rose Hathaway and Vasilisa Dragomir or Lissa for short. Lissa is a Moroi. Rose is a Dhampir, the Moroi guardians. Basically, the Dhampir guard the Moroi from the Strigoi, the evil kind of vampires. So, Rose and Lissa meet this Dhampir, Dimitri Belikov, and Rose wants him and he secretly wants her… secret lusting follows until eventually, it’s uncovered that Lissa is even more magical than everyone thought, and she’s the last of her line, and so her uncle is like… argh, evil and tries to kidnap her and stuff. You really do have to read it.
Ok, so that’s about all that I can think of. But vampires are always a safe bet as are private boarding schools.

If you like romance, then I’d suggest you read a book by Danielle Steel such as: 5 Days in Paris, Malice, Honour Thyself, Summer’s End, Season of Passion
Also, this is a very good book: "The Choice" by Nicholas Sparks
Hope I helped ![]()
